    Performance Management
    Monitor, measure, analyze and report systems performance as it compares to the agreed-upon service levels. Collection and analysis of statistics. Tuning of system software and hardware environments to meet service level objectives and/or improve those performance objectives to prevent impact on services.

    Quality Management
    Create and/or incorporate and maintain all supplied or needed documentation, procedures and standards. Validate that all policies, procedures and standards are up to date, of good quality, understandable and followed.

    Recovery Management
    Plan, establish and test the recovery procedures required to provide the services to the customer in the event of a failure.

    Incident Management
    Identify, record, track and correct issues impacting service delivery. Recognize recurring problems. Address procedural issues. Contain or reduce the impact of incidents that may occur.

    Production Support Management
    Monitor production jobs and tasks to ensure successful completion. Reschedule, report, tune, maintain and configure the scheduling software.

    Capacity & Configuration Management
    Develop and maintain tactical and strategic plans to verify the data center environment accommodates growing and changing business requirements. This includes capacity planning for all aspects of the environment, bench marking and reporting.

    Batch Management
    Plan and control production batch work, including the administration and coordination of job schedules, execution of schedules, scheduling of resources and the processing of data and transactions.

    Resource Utilization Management
    Monitor and report on utilization of processing resources per unit of work. Identify any violations or restrictions of resources by type or excess. Coordinate with Capacity and Performance Management to ensure the costs for services are not due to poor performance or resource utilization abuse.

    System Software Management
    Get and manage software licenses, periodically auditing all software to determine license expiration and renew licenses to avoid service impact or unavailability. Manage all software licenses and associated maintenance agreements to ensure compliance and vender support requirements, and software performance and accuracy.

    Media Management
    Provide support, control and management for disk space and tape resources. This includes naming standards, usage standards, proper storage of files, onsite and offsite, and monitoring and maintenance of media to prevent incidents due to obsolescence, abuse, improper use or defect. It also includes quality assurance, the validation of created output and compliance with security and disaster recovery requirements, as well as the operation of media devices, library management, offsite storage management, retention management, and the inventory and recall of data.

    Facilities Management
    This includes building construction, physical safety, power supply and protections against fire, flooding and force majeure.
